Al-Mamlaka TV – Studio 3 lounge set

Sofa, shelving, column and ceiling: in Studio 3 for Al-Mamlaka TV in Jordan, they are drawn as a single continuous form. VIPRO’s 2017 design for the channel’s conversation-led programmes treats the set as one sculpted object rather than a collection of furniture.

One form, many seats

A long curved sofa sits on a shaped platform and sweeps around a low glass table. Behind it, shelving is carried on organic ribs that grow out of the wall, and at one end a flared column rises from the seat back into a circular ceiling feature. Soft neutral tones and smooth white surfaces leave the colour to the presenters and guests.

Modular elements and loose furniture let the seating be rearranged for one-to-one interviews, panels or audience segments, so relaxed talk and more formal discussion can share the floor.

Daylight as backdrop

The set faces full-height glazing, and the city outside forms the background of the wide shots. Working with a real view means the studio light has to sit comfortably beside daylight. Programmable scenes move the room between serious discussion and lighter talk, while the window keeps it rooted in its place.
