Aramco – iRead event stage

For an event about reading, the design starts with the book itself. The stage VIPRO designed for Aramco events in Saudi Arabia carries the iRead (Iqra) branding, and builds its architecture from the objects of reading.

The library as architecture

Giant book spines stand as towers on either side, their bindings patterned as on a real shelf. At the centre, a portal of stacked pages steps back in receding frames towards a central LED screen, drawing the eye to the speaker and the brand. Above, a suspended canopy shaped like an open book is patterned with Arabic letterforms, so even the high wide shot reads as text.

Gold to blue

Programmable LED fixtures and scene presets recolour the whole composition, from warm gold to cool blue, for different moments of the event. The same structure serves presentations, ceremonies and live streaming, with further screens and projection surfaces for content, and sound, lighting and video planned for multi-camera coverage of a large audience.
