Asharq – entrance and reception, Riyadh

Before a visitor sees a studio, they see the lobby. At Asharq’s offices in the DQ development, VIPRO designed the entrance as the channel’s front page: the first place the brand is read, and a preview of the broadcast floors beyond.

Reading the brand at the door

White perforated screen walls in a geometric star pattern set the tone. A dark band runs through them carrying the Asharq name, linear lights cut across the ceiling, and a timber-slat wall warms the waiting area.

  • Glazing: partitions with digital graphic films, so the working areas can be glimpsed without being fully exposed.
  • Screens: a digital display at the control-room door, linking the public side to the broadcast side.
  • Desk and lounge: a sculpted white reception desk, and a lounge of dark leather sofas around a low table.
  • Flow: clear routes from the door, with security and holding areas kept discreet.

Built for traffic

A reception is walked through and cleaned all day. Finishes were chosen for a high-traffic public area, and layered lighting picks out the branding while the space stays calm, bright and easy to read.
