UTV – cooking show set

Two kitchens, two colours and a VS between them: the UTV cooking studio is set up as a contest before a single dish is cooked. VIPRO’s scope here went past design into studio construction, technical infrastructure and production support.

Blue corner, red corner

Two working kitchen islands, one blue and one red, face each other across a circular medallion set into a pale timber floor, with the show logo and a head-to-head graphic on the screen between them. From the central camera, one wide shot frames both cooks as opponents, and each bay reads clearly when the director cuts in.

Kitchens that work

• Bays: framed kitchen sets in saturated colour blocks, with smaller glass-fronted sets along the sides for prep and guest segments.
• Services: working appliances, proper ventilation, lighting and screens built into the set for real cooking on air.
• Flow: clear routes for hosts, chefs and camera crews, and quick resets between segments.

The same floor can run demonstrations, guest segments and competition formats in a compact space without changing the layout.
